Specialty Compounding

A medication plan adjusted to the person, not just the prescription.

Step one: your provider identifies that a commercially available medication does not meet your needs. Maybe the dosage is wrong, the pill contains a filler you react to, or the drug has been discontinued. Maybe a child needs a liquid formulation that does not exist off the shelf.

Step two: the provider writes a compounding prescription specifying the exact active ingredient, strength, and delivery form. Common cases include bioidentical hormone replacement tailored to individual lab results, topical pain creams combining multiple active ingredients, thyroid formulations in non-standard doses, and pediatric medications in flavored liquids. The prescription goes to a licensed compounding pharmacy that meets strict quality and safety standards.

Step three: once you start the compounded medication, your provider monitors your response and adjusts the formulation as needed. This is not a one-time order. It is an ongoing clinical relationship where the medication adapts to your results.
