Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is one of the most effective tools available for preventing HIV infection, reducing the risk of acquiring HIV through sexual contact by approximately 99% when taken as prescribed. At Moses Medical Center, we provide comprehensive PrEP services in a confidential, nonjudgmental environment. Our providers are experienced in prescribing both oral PrEP options, including Truvada and Descovy, as well as the long-acting injectable Apretude (cabotegravir), which is administered every two months and eliminates the need for a daily pill.

Starting PrEP at Moses Medical Center begins with a straightforward evaluation that includes baseline lab work, kidney function testing, and screening for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Once started, you’ll have quarterly follow-up visits that include ongoing lab monitoring, STI screening, and a check-in with your provider to address any questions or side effects. These regular visits are an important part of PrEP care, ensuring that the medication continues to be safe and effective for you.
