Most visits at Moses Medical cost you $0 with New York Medicaid. No copays for primary care. No copays for specialists. No copays for lab work. We accept both fee-for-service Medicaid and managed care plans including MetroPlus, Fidelis Care, and Amerigroup. Walk-ins are welcome at 871B Westchester Ave, right off the 2/5 trains at Longwood Ave and the Bx6 SBS bus.

Your Medicaid card covers primary care and internal medicine visits for physicals, sick visits, chronic disease management, and immunizations. All at no cost to you.

It also covers specialists under the same roof. Cardiology for blood pressure and heart health. Dermatology for skin conditions. Behavioral health for therapy, counseling, and psychiatric care. Pain management for back pain, arthritis, and nerve pain. Podiatry for diabetic foot exams and routine foot care. Ophthalmology for annual eye exams and glaucoma treatment. ENT for hearing, sinus, and throat problems.

Women’s health services include gynecological exams, prenatal care, and reproductive screenings. Our wound care team treats diabetic ulcers and chronic wounds. We run lab tests and radiology imaging on-site, so you do not need a separate trip. Physical therapy is available when your provider orders rehab.

Before Your First Visit

Bring your managed care ID card. That is the most important thing. If you are on a managed care plan like MetroPlus, Fidelis, or Amerigroup, you need to pick a primary care provider. Call your plan and assign a Moses Medical doctor as your PCP. Or tell our front desk when you arrive and we will walk you through it.

Not sure if your Medicaid is active? Call the NY Medicaid Helpline at 1-800-541-2831 or check at health.ny.gov. You can also just come in. We verify eligibility in real time at the front desk.

Managed care plans usually require a referral from your PCP before you see a specialist. Our staff handles referrals the same day, so you can often see a specialist during the same visit.

Benefits Most Members Miss

Your managed care plan covers free transportation to medical appointments. Call your plan to arrange a ride at no cost. This is included with MetroPlus, Fidelis, and Amerigroup. Many members in Longwood, Hunts Point, and Mott Haven do not know about this benefit and pay out of pocket for rides they do not need to.

Preventive screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and cancer are covered at $0. Finding these conditions during a routine visit means simpler treatment. Annual checkups are cheaper than the alternative.

Behavioral health is also covered at $0, including therapy and psychiatric visits. You do not need a separate referral for behavioral health services with most managed care plans. Just ask at the front desk.
